If there are homeless people in the pre-security parts of the airport, they’re inconspicuous.) I fly in/out of there A LOT, sometimes late/early, and have never witnessed any such thing. (I saw the post on “Sleeping in airports” warning about squatter encampments at LaGuardia, and find it hard to believe. ![]() Honestly, if there’s any way you can afford a nearby hotel, that would be the way to go. Staying outside security would be even less comfortable and, while not *unsafe,* not something most people would want to do.especially in these circumstances, and even more especially if the thought of it makes you anxious. Staying in the secure area overnight (if it were allowed) wouldn’t be comfortable, but it would be safe. I’m very sorry about the circumstances of your trip (I’ve unfortunately had to book some emergency travel recently, and know how stressful & bewildering it can be).Īs to your question.I believe (hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong) that travelers aren’t allowed to stay in the secure area between the last scheduled flight at night and the first scheduled flight in the morning. ![]()
